Projects

The Rotary Club of Crawley supports a variety of Causes through a range of fundraising and service activities.

Our 2010-2011 goal is to identify projects within the key areas of focus that provide valued assistance, deliver enduring positive outcomes, and utilise our members' skills.

The Club has project Principles and Processes that guide the Proposal, selection and support of projects. There is a Project Strategy and Review Team charged with helping the Club achieve the best possible choices and outcomes for the projects it supports. Members may make a Proposal for a project to be considered by the Club membership.

Project types

Causes are projects which the Club supports that have a charitable outcome and usually involve funding all or some of the objectives or project elements. They may also require member's skills or 'tap into' member's networks of expertise. They can target issues in Australian or international communities. For example, an existing sanitation project in an overseas village or risk management advice for the development of a public walking trail.

Fundraising projects are those that engage Club members to raise funds to support either a specific project or toward general revenue. This can be a random concept to raise funds or designed specifically to support a cause or endorsed project. For example, an African art exhibition to fund a women's refuge in Zambia or 'wine drive' to raise money for the Club 'kitty'. All fundraising projects must allocate 10% of project profits for the Club discretionary use. Many fundraising projects will at some stage in the planning need to 'create an event' on the website. This is purely to market the event and in some case accept registrations.
